I’m in the middle of a major coffee obsession lately. For some reason I can’t go past a Starbucks without having major craving attacks, I don’t know if it’s the warmish weather, the fact that I just discovered their Frappuccino drinks or maybe that I have an insane amount f work and just desperately need the caffeine kick.
Whatever it is, I’m craving it. So after indulging in one too many fraps I knew it was time to recreate it at home.
In the shape of frosting.. yes, my friend this is Starbucks Frappuccino Frosting, and it’s delicious, indulging and the perfect complement to any cake, cupcake or cookie you plan to make, that must be accompanied by a real Frappuccino because that would be the best combo ever.
I mean this is technical to top cupcakes with but I may or may not be eating it with a spoon while writing this post. Not that I encourage that or anything but gals, this is good!
To make this an actual frappuccino frosting we are going to be mixing some flavors in here.
So, to make this we are basically making 3 different frostings, coffee frosting, vanilla frosting and chocolate frosting and then just slightly blending them in together, just a bit.
The magic of this frosting is that you can actually taste each one of the 3 different flavors instead of only tasting one huge crazy mixture of flavors and that usually ends with an “I think I feel the coffee at the back but I’m not too sure if it’s just my brain telling me that” in here there’s actual flavor of each one of the things.
If you are not like me and you actually pair it with actual desserts, then it goes deliciously with chocolate or tiramisu cupcakes and it’s beautiful to frost and decorate a layer cake.
Frappuccino Frosting
To make the frappuccino frosting extra fluffy and cloud like you just need to follow all the instructions and tips I give on this post about how to make the ultimate vanilla frosting.
In there I lined everything you need to keep in mind to whip up a bakery style frosting at your home. While the tips are geared toward a vanilla frosting they are the same fro all the frostings in the world.
To make the coffee frosting I’m using espresso powder and to make the chocolate one I’m using some cocoa powder. I added a bit in both cases because I want the flavors to be delicate nad not overpowering.
Whip it up, frost some cakes, eat it with a spoon and rejoice in your very own homemade frappuccino frosting
- For the Vanilla Frosting follow the directions on the post how to make the ultimate vanilla frosting
- For the Chocolate Frosting:
- Same ingredients for the vanilla frosting
- 2 tablespoon cacao powder
- For the Coffee Frosting
- Same ingredients for the vanilla frosting
- 1 teaspoon espresso powder
- 2 tablespoon Starbucks Frappuccino
- Make each frosting in a separate bowl according to the tips and directions in the how to make the ultimate vanilla frosting post.
- Once the 3 frostings are fluffy place them in a bowl and slightly mix them together (creating some marble-like patterns) with the help of a spatula
