Sundried Tomato Crostini, just think about this little delicious appetizer recipe for a second…
Just kidding, think about it for a little longer. Crusty toasted bread, a thick layer of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, a big slice of sundried tomato and then a little happy leave of basil.
Gosh, just thinking about it me makes me drool, makes me excited, and fills me with all the happy emotions.
Truth is, I’m not a savory person, and when I say a savory person, I mean I’m not the type of person who knows how to cook a lot of savory recipes and look totally cool in the kitchen and pull out huge dishes.
I’m more of a dessert gal, and one that hates being in the kitchen, wanting to whip up anything as fast as possible. Yeah, kind of funny for a food blogger, right?
If you’ve been a reader for a while then you are well aware that if it takes me little time, requires little ingredients and little dishes, then I’m gushing about it non-stop (and probably eating it non-stop too).
But every other weekend I like to have a couple of friends over and eat delicious treats, watch silly movies, joke about the next dating craze, and gossip a bit about our dogs, clothing, and food.
So, obviously I also serve savory treats. I mean, the whole idea of the get-together is to eat delicious treats and there’s no way I’m only going to serve cupcakes! Enter the Philadelphia Cream Cheese Sundried Tomato Crostini!
I mean, you can whip up this recipe in something like 10 minutes and it’s so delicious you won’t need to serve anything else.
I also really love the fact that it uses very few ingredients because, for some crazy reason, every time I invite people over I realize that my fridge is empty 15 minutes before everyone arrives.
What can I tell you? Last minute cooking is my extreme favorite sport. Because I know myself, I ALWAYS have some Philadelphia Cream Cheese on hand, ALWAYS, because it’s made with fresh milk & real cream and no preservatives, nothing else tastes like it, and you can use it on almost anything and everything under the sun.
Cheesecakes? Check.
Bagel? Check.
Dessert cups? Check.
Dips? Check.
Sandwiches? Cakes? Muffins? Check, check and a big check.
See? Anything delicious is made, topped or, at least, accompanied by Philadelphia Cream Cheese.
To make the Sundried Tomato Crostini you obviously also need sundried tomatoes, and since they last for ages in your pantry, you can stock up on them to make last minute appetizers, quick fancy dinners or everything that needs to look polished and put together.
I also like to keep some basil on hand, basically because it looks cool, tastes delicious and makes you feel like a total chef when you top something with it. (Also because pesto; enough said).
No, no one is going to realize the super cool-looking appetizer they are eating was cooked in 10 minutes, literally while they were parking and you were still in your old cat pajamas. #truestory
Making the Philadelphia Cream Cheese Sundried Tomato Crostini is super easy and the recipe makes a lot of crostini to share (happy dance!!).
Also, they are so pretty and elegant you don’t need to plate them, just place them on a marble platter, and call it a day.
Trust me, every single person is going to ask for the recipe 😉
