What is the Bahama Mama smoothie

Bahama Mama is one of the signature smoothies from Tropical Smoothie Cafe, a fast food chain with delicious smoothies, sandwiches and salads.

The Bahama Mama is refreshing, thick, slightly creamy and super tropical! It’s made with strawberries, pineapple, white chocolate and coconut and yes it’s just as good as it sounds.

What I really like about this smoothie is that it has a very different flavr to a traditional berry smoothie you’ll get at any other restaurant.

Part of the reason is the white chocolate that’s added. It makes it perfectly sweet and just a little bit indulgent.

You. won’t feel the chocolate a lot, just in the perfect way and the strawberries and pineapple make it incredibly refreshing.

And the coconut? Well the coconut gives it that tropical flair that’s just to die for.

What ingredients you need to make a Bahama Mama Smoothie from Tropical Smoothie

What I love about copycat recipes is that they come out incredibly similar to the one you’ll get at the cafe!

However, what I love about cooking at home is that you can play with the ingredients and use what you like and what you ave on hand. Sure, the results might be slightly different if you are making substitutions but it’s a fun way to explore and use what you have.

Pineapple: You can use fresh pineapple or frozen pineapple both work just as well. Pineapple gives the smoothie an incredibly refreshing and fruity flavor profile that’s incredibly good.

Strawberries: They make the smoothie perfectly pink and also give it a nice fruity taste. Just like with the pineapple you can use fresh strawberries or frozen berries. Both work just as well.

Coconut milk: This is what gives the smoothie the tropical flavor. Coconut milk is also incredibly thick and creamy so the end result feels totally indulgent. If you are looking for a lighter alternative you can also use coconut water instead of coconut milk.

White chocolate syrup: The white chocolate syrup is the star of this recipe and the thing that really makes this tropical smoothie cafe smoothie stand out. It’s so good! You can use melted white chocolate chips if you don’t have chocolate syrup on hand, but keep on mind that they might separate when you are blending them into the smoothie.

How to make a Bahama Mama Smoothie

This recipe is easy! As easy as a recipe can get honestly. You basically just need to add all the ingredients to the glass of a blender and pulse until smooth.

If you are using melted chocolate chips instead of the white chocolate syrup I highly advice you fist blend the room temp coconut milk with he melted chocolate chips and then incorporate the fruit.
