I believe that apples are the queens of fall, like I told you here (also check out that recipe if you want the best apple cake in the whole world).
But I also believe that caramel makes everything better, E VERY THING so, obviously, a caramel apple cake is, like, the best.
Also, a cake that can be made in 20 minutes is the best too and a cake that you can eat right after it comes out of the oven without having to wait.
That is beyond the best and I’m not exaggerating even by a bit. This cake is it ladies and gentlemen we found it this cake is fall, and is delicious, and is beautiful, and is easy and …
OH MY GOD LOOK AT THE CARAMEL
Sorry, I got excited, but please look those caramel drops and drool with me so I don’t feel like a weirdo …
It has double caramel
Once drizzled before baking and swirled in the batter and the again after it came out of the oven.
Also, it’s made with fresh apple slices, placed all in the middle of the cake, so it’s almost like a pie cake hybrid, a cake pie, anyhow, I always get distracted trying to come up with one of those names, but now it’s not important because we are talking about
Caramel Apple Cake
Now, lets get into the details. Making it is extremely easy, like seriously, like you are not going to be able to find an easier cake to bake.
Second, cut the apple in thin slices don’t ask me why (because I really have no idea) but the flavor was better when the apple was thinly sliced vs larger chunks.
Also, the texture was PERFECT vs less than perfect. The takeaway: thin slices is the way to go.
I placed all the slices on the middle of the cake, the order was batter, apple, batter, but you can just distribute them around, I prefer to put them on the middle because I like the surprise factor of finding apple in the middle of my cake.
Swirl some caramel before baking, it makes it more , well more like caramel, and more sweet.
Keep in mind that this is not a overly sweet cake so the caramel really helps bringing the flavors out. And right after you take it out of the oven drizzle it with more, because caramel
Oh, and about the sizes, they are small, I made them on a ramekin, a bit bigger than a cupcake pan because I love small things
