Okay, so this is dessert. The kind of dessert you want to drink all day like if there was no tomorrow, you know what I’m talking about?. The kind of dessert that makes you think “what I’ve been doing my whole life and why I didn’t make this before?!?!”. I’m talking about a cookies and cream milkshake, full cookie crumbs and so creamy and thick and fudgy you are pretty sure a unicorn made it. Yes, that’s how good it is.
And can we please talk abut how the Cookies and Cream Milkshake it’s just so easy to make it’s perfect? I mean I love how delicious homemade ice creams are but, when you have a kitchen that’s smaller than an average closet, the thought of using crucial countertop space for an ice cream machine is just, ugh, scary. I mean those things are just so ginormous is almost insane. And the bag trick to make ice cream without the machine? well, let’s just say they are a watery, slippery mess. Has anyone besides the people making the videos has had any sort of luck with them? Because I just failed miserably more times that I’m proud of.
But you know what? You don’t have those watery slippery ice cream machine problems when you make this cookies and cream milkshake + you still get all the creaminess, thick perfection of ice cream + all the delicious flavors of homemade creations. And yes you kind of have to drink eat it because it’s so thick a straw is almost useless, so you kind of drink it and then you eat some with a spoon, and then you dance in your living room because you are pretty sure you just had happiness for dessert.
And there’s a secret behind all that creamy perfection this Cookies and Cream Milkshake has.
I use creamer, International Delight creamer. Because guys, those creamers are beyond delicious and they literally make coffee, breakfast and dessert time a million + 1 times better. International Delight comes in various flavors: they have French Vanilla, Caramel Macchiato, Sweet Cream and Hazelnut. I’ve tried them all and they are all delicious and perfect for your milkshake endeavors (and they go great with pancakes, just substitute the milk for some International Delight creamer). And I mean since part of my job is daydreaming about milkshake flavors I came up with some pretty interesting ideas in case cookies and cream is not your cup of milkshake (sorry I had to make the bad pun)
- Caramel Machiatto Milkshake
- Double Chocolate Hazelnut Milkshake
- Bananilla Milkshake (yes that’s a mix between vanilla and banana)
- Tiramisu Dreams Milkshake (chocolate + sweet cream creamer + some whipped cream and cacao powder to top it all)
Just think about it, the possibilities are pretty much endless (International Delight I love you) but now again to the cookies and cream milkshake that’s the star of this post. Making it is a breeze. I used French Vanilla International Delight Creamer, milk, cookies, ice cream and ice. Just throw all the ingredients at the same time in your blender and serve it in a tall glass, or you know just drink it straight from your blender I won’t judge.
- 2 Cups French Vanilla International Delight Creamer
- 4 Cups Ice
- 2 Cups milk
- 2 Cups vanilla ice cream
- 2 Cups crushed cookies
- More cookies to top
- Place all the ingredients in a blender and pulse until done (around 3 minutes)
- Pour into 2 tall glasses. Top with more crushed cookies and serve
