Heart Healthy Grape Smoothie Bowl

Can you believe it’s already February? I k ow how cliche it seems but it seriously amazes me how fast time goes. Just yesterday it was NYE and all the resolutions were brand new and fresh. Needless to ay life has taken over the last couple of weeks and suddenly my resolutions (and I’m pretty sure yours as well) were less in the front of my life and more like forgotten in the back of a cabinet.

The excuse? Cooking is difficult, cooking is hard and cooking healthy dishes takes time. Oh, my gosh how wrong I was! Take as an example this Heart Healthy Grape Smoothie Bowl that’s so easy to make and so delicious you’ll start questioning yourself why you never made it any sooner. This is thick, ut’s creamy and it’s packed with good for you ingredients that are delicious as well.

My favorite ingredient?  Welch’s 100% Grape Juice. Honestly, it’s the easiest way to incorporate some purple to your diet. Purple foods are good for your heart (think concord grapes and blueberries) because they provide the same polyphenols and heart-health benefits as red wine. I actually have their juice straight from the bottle (SO GOOD!) and make it a part of recipes such as smoothies, blends, mocktails and just simply put everything.

But back to the Heart Healthy Grape Smoothie Bowl. You want to make sure you are filling up your bowl with enough smoothie and then topping everything with a healthy dose of chia seeds. You can also add nuts, coconut flakes or extra pieces of fruits to make it more filling. Or you can go with a lighter take (and easier) and just drink it straight from the blender. Whichever option you pick you can be sure that this is going to keep your heart running strong and healthy, just like ti should be. And hey, we are in the heart health month (February in case you are reading this at another date) so it’s a great excuse to start adopting good habits.
