How to freeze jalapenos to keep them fresh

Want to know how to freeze jalapenos? Keep reading! This is the easiest and best way for perfect frozen jalapenos in no time!

Be it your favorite Margherita pizza or a healthy sub for your lunch. Jalapenos are an absolute necessity and the soul of these recipes.

Often, we tend to hoard up the stock of jalapenos just in case we run out of it.

In such cases, there is always a chance that if you do not take proper care of it, the jalapenos might get stale and sloppy.

Today we have decoded a very effective method to preserve the freshness of jalapenos for months effortlessly! Let’s check it out.

Can you freeze jalapenos?

Yes. Indeed. Many retail stores and bakers tend to stock up on their jalapenos for months to preserve the freshness.

One of the most common examples is your nearest pizza outlets and burger stations. Likewise, many people also harvest jalapenos in their garden and have an excess of them.

All of them resort to freezing jalapenos to preserve it. It is one of the most full-proof methods to keep your jalapenos and maintain their crispness for long.

Hence, you can easily freeze your jalapenos with the proper procedure, and they will stay as fresh as ever!

How to freeze jalapenos?

Freezing jalapenos hardly takes about 5-10 minutes. Let’s check out the procedure.

You can freeze jalapenos whole or cut, depending on what you plan to prepare with them or space in your freezer.

Regardless of which option you decide on, you should first wash the jalapenos in cold water and dry them with a clean towel or cloth.

If you want to freeze them whole, remove the stems unless you want to keep them for some preparation and store them in a plastic bag.

Try to remove as much air as you can and close the bag.

It would be a good idea to write on it the date you are freezing the jalapenos.

If you want to freeze them sliced, cut every jalapeno into halves, and remove the seeds and membrane.

Cut them with a knife into the size of slices that you think is most convenient.

Then, place jalapeno slices on a cookie sheet and place them in the freezer for about an hour. This way, when you put them later in the plastic bags, the slices will be loose, and it will be easier to separate them.

Now you can transfer the slices to the plastic bags, empty all the air you can, identify and take them to the freezer.
