Hey guys!! Today I’m bringing you a super awesome recipe perfect for hectic mornings, a Double Power Mocha Shake!! If your mornings are like mine, then you are always on the run. I mean there are so many things that need to be done every single morning and sometimes we forget about the most important one (ahem having breakfast). Because most of the times having a nutritious breakfast means spending a lot of time in the kitchen, we end up skipping it, but not anymore! This shake takes less than 5 minutes to make and it is incredibly delicious!!
4 ingredients my friends, that’s all you need, no more breakfast skipping. It’s great if you are on the run or, if like me, you just want to be able to get the most out of your morning time. To make it I only used banana, Greek yogurt, coffee and Carnation Breakfast Essentials® in chocolate flavor. However, it also comes in vanilla and strawberry, and if you are taking care of your weight you can find all flavors without sugars added, so there’s really an option for everyone. Did I mention they can all be found at WALMART!?
Obviously I had to pack my cart with a ton of Carnation Breakfast Essentials® because I’m committed to take back my breakfasts once and for all! Oh, and another little cool fact, if your mornings are like way more hectic, like I can’t even make a shake kind of hectic, you can also buy one of their ready to drink bottles (they are SO GOOD!! and literally tastes like dessert, a win in my book).
Now, let’s get back to our double power mocha shake! it’s full of protein and deliciousness + it’s super filling and even incorporates a piece of fresh fruit and caffeine for that little perk in the morning (am I the only one that can’t function without at least a cup of coffee?). Also, it takes 2 1/2 minutes to make.
It’s thick, creamy and at least for me, it tastes something like chocolate cake which is like the single best thing ever.
This New Year I made the resolution to start having breakfast every single day (no excuses), and since I love a good challenge I’m taking part in the 7-day breakfast challenge. It’s a super fun way to get into a new habit! You basically commit to having something for breakfast for the whole 7 days and then you can enter for a chance to win prizes, it’s basically a reward for sticking to your goals.
Right now I’m about halfway with the challenge and the results have been awesome. Before, I used to hit the snooze button a lot and then (unsuccessfully) tried to cram all my morning activities. Now, because I know there’s a super delicious breakfast waiting for me, I wake up really fast, and since breakfast takes so little time to make, I even have some extra time that I use to exercise.
How to make a double power mocha shake
It’s super duper easy and like SO SO easy it’s almost silly that I made a recipe.
Basically, just throw all your ingredients in the blender and blend for like 2 minutes. Then just pour it into a glass and enjoy.
Told you friend, there’s literally, not an easier way to start the morning.
- 1 Banana
- 2 Cups of brewed coffee
- 1 Packet of Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Powder (I used Chocolate flavor but they are all great)
- 1/2 Cup of Greek Yogurt
- Ice to taste
- Place all the ingredients in a blender. Pulse until everything is mixed
- Pour on a tall glass
- Enjoy
