I’m a HUGE fan of cookies, so if it comes in some sort of cookie shape you can rest assured that I’m going to make it, and eat it, and then lick the pan so I can inhale the last crumb.
So when a friend asked how to make vanilla biscotti, I decided to embark on a quest to find the perfect most crunchy recipe, and guys I FOUND IT!!
First, what is a biscotti?
Well is a traditional Italian cookie (fancy right?) that’s used to dunk in coffee.
It’s usually some sort of hard cake that you toast and then that toasted piece of hard cake is called biscotti.
It’s actually pretty delicious, and in my opinion, it should be called Nutella dipper cause there’s no better thing to dip in Nutella than this one.
Trust me my friend, it’s all the crunchiness and deliciousness and Nutella perfection into one little Italian cookie stick.
There are lots of biscotti tutorials online, like A LOT, but I found the recipes to be difficult to follow, super time consuming or plain confusing.
And let’s be honest, who has time for crazy steps that are completely unnecessary?
Definitely not me! So this is the most basic step by step biscotti recipe and tutorial that you are going to find online.
How to make Vanilla Biscotti.
First the amount of ingredients that you need: 5 isn’t it cool when a recipe only uses 5 ingredients? You only need self-rising flour, butter, sugar, egg and vanilla and that’s it.
I also made this collage with pictures of all the step, I’m actually a super visual learner and hey photos are pretty neat. So here it is.
Then just mix the butter with the sugar and the vanilla.
Add the egg it’s going to look curdled but just keep mixing (sing that in Dory’s voice)
Add the flour mix until you have a dough. And grease and flour your pan.
Place the dough in there and form a log (think something with the shape of a baguette)
And to the oven!
Then just take it out o the oven, slice it, and take it back to the oven one more time to toast.
Once is ready just let it cool and eat and dance and enjoy. Completely optional but highly encouraged? dipping it in Nutella.
Did you already pinned this recipe? Trust me it’s going to come in handy!!
