What you need to know about Sonic hard seltzers
Sonic Hard Seltzer has crafted a unique beverage experience with its two themed 12-packs: Citrus and Tropical. The Citrus pack includes four flavors – Lemonade, Limeade, Lemon Berry, and Cherry Limeade; while the Tropical boasts Mango Guava, Melon Medley, Orange Pineapple, and Ocean Water.
All these flavors come in at only 100 calories each while containing no added sugar or gluten, making them healthier alternatives than many other items on Sonic’s restaurant drink menu (excluding alcohol).
Sonic Hard Seltzers are an exemplary contender in the crowded hard seltzer market, boasting a classic beverage profile and unique flavor options.
With Sonic’s iconic branding and flavors ranging from Pineapple to Ocean Water for all taste preferences, this refreshing drink deserves its place among cold drinks on those hot days!

Mango Guava
Guava is often a mysterious flavor in many products, but its distinct and unique taste can be hard to define. If faced with the challenge of describing guava flavors on the spot, it may prove difficult due to a lack of experience or familiarity.
When looking for this fruity essence among different items such as seltzer beverages, one may find that they cannot detect any hints within them – despite claims from manufacturers – demonstrating how elusive. Yet, sought-after actual guava flavoring can be.
Sonic’s Mango Guava seltzer offers a familiar flavor profile: sharply reminiscent of the popular mango-flavored hard seltzers. Though it certainly won’t surprise you with its bold guava notes, fans of these drinks will likely find much to savor here as well!
Orange Pineapple
This beverage captures the nostalgia of childhood summer days with its tangy, punchy flavor.
It’s not just orange juice- this drink has a unique and delicious taste reminiscent of those classic corn syrup drinks from years ago – now, excited for adults who want more than a refreshing treat!
This Sonic Seltzer presents an assertive orange flavor with a subtle hint of pineapple to balance.
The aftertaste is faintly reminiscent of SweeTARTS candy, and its carbonated finish mimics the flavors or aromas of champagne-based mimosas. Although this seltzer drinks well on its own merits, it doesn’t stand out among highly-rated siblings within the same range.
Ocean Water
Sonic prominently features Ocean Water as an iconic item on their expansive slush menu.
This unique flavor, which combines blue coconut syrup and Sprite to create a taste reminiscent of sunscreen, has become so popular that the company even copyrighted its name!
Sonic continues to capitalize on this success by encouraging customers to join either Team Ocean Water or Team Cherry Limeade in promotional materials for their Hard Seltzer brand.
Despite lofty expectations, our taste testers were sorely disappointed by the Ocean Water seltzer flavor from Sonic Hard Seltzers.
Unlike the classic soft drinks from drive-ins which contain added sugars and artificial sweeteners, these hard seltzers have minimal sugar content. This feature was not appreciated when it came to this particular imbibe.
Testers found its coconutty notes, along with sour citric acid flavors plus hints of saltiness, unsatisfying compared to other offerings like Cherry Limeade. We trust you’ll agree Team Cherry limeade is the way forward!
Melon Medley
Sonic has taken a bold leap into the melon-flavored hard seltzer market, offering a refreshing take on the genre.
Rather than having watermelon as its primary flavor – which dominates many American beverages in this category – Sonic’s version is dominated by honeydew notes with subtle hints of watermelon playing off them to create harmony and intrigue.
This unique combination allows for a more complex taste that promises to keep consumers coming back for more!
Sonic Seltzer’s Melon Medley is an unrivaled tropical treat that stands out among the rest. Treat your taste buds to a unique blend of Japanese melon Ramune soda and Pepino Limon Gatorade with a hint of sweetness, culminating in an acidic cucumbery aftertaste like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. Take advantage of this one-of-a-kind seltzer experience!
Lemonade
The Lemonade Sonic seltzer fails to bring the same refreshing satisfaction as its Limeade counterpart.
It is over-saturated with an extreme sourness that can be unpalatable for some, leaving only plain sparkling water without any sweetness or fruit flavor.
Many of us may have noticed the difference in flavor between limes and lemons; At the same time, one delivers a refreshing, citrusy taste that excites our senses, and the other only serves an overpowering sourness.
This is why many opt out of adding lemon to their favorite beverage or even cooking with it – due to its lack of sweetness; this singular characteristic deters most.
On the contrary, lime juice has complex flavors comprising both acidic tartness and sweet zestiness that captivates everyone’s palate!
Despite this substantial disparity, some individuals claim enjoyment from sucking on wedges for fun – possibly catering towards Sonic’s Lemonade demographic crowdsourcing?
Limeade
The plain Limeade seltzer was a surprisingly pleasant surprise. Offering less tartness than other options, it evoked subtle similarities to soda beverages like 7UP.
Though no artificial sweeteners were listed on the label, its taste exhibited slight saccharine qualities that made for an overall pleasing flavor profile full of citrusy lime essence and oil notes.
Sonic’s Limeade Hard Seltzer boasts a bold, sweet flavor unmistakably reminiscent of its citrus inspiration.
The zesty taste and refreshing complexity make it the perfect choice for those looking to take their seltzer experience up a notch – worth picking up if available!
Lemon Berry
This beverage offers a deceptively sweet taste sensation fit for those partial to flavored water products, such as Crystal Light and Mio.
While the accompanying illustration implies raspberry flavor, it tastes more akin to pink lemonade. Moreover, this version is tastefully milder than regular Lemonade seltzer – meaning no unpleasant sourness here!
While accurately formulated to deliver a balanced sweet-and-sour experience, Lemon Berry needs to captivate the taste buds.
With its monochromatic flavor profile and lack of complexity, there is no incentive for palates looking for an exciting adventure. Limeade, however, has got it all – juicy lime notes in combination with refreshing zesty elements that create a harmony as pleasing on the tongue as it is stimulating.
Cherry Limeade
Sonic Cherry Limeade Seltzer stands out from the crowd, boasting an intense and unmistakable fake cherry flavor. Perfect for fans of black cherry soda or snow cones in the summertime, it achieves a unique candy-like sweetness that truly captures Sonic’s iconic identity.
With this drink on your side, you’ll never have to worry about running short of sweet refreshments!
Cherry Limeade Sonic Seltzer is a genuinely bold soda experience! Its extreme sweetness and sourness are sure to make an impression, though some may find the flavor too intense – if you prefer natural fruit flavors in your beverage options, this one isn’t for you.
