Asparagus can be served hot or cold. You can steam them or serve them with Hollandaise Sauce. They are also great baked in the oven, grilled on the barbeque, or eaten raw.
Look for purple tips on your asparagus when you buy it. The greener the spear the older it is.

The artichoke is actually the flower bud of a thistle plant and one of the most popular vegetables that start with A. This vegetable is a great side dish for just about any meal. Artichokes can be steamed, boiled, baked, grilled, or fried. They also taste great dipped in mayonnaise or melted butter.
The best way to eat an artichoke is one leaf at a time. With the help of a fork, pull one leaf out of the artichoke and eat it. Use your teeth to scrape the meat off the fleshy part on the inside of the leaf. Then discard that leaf. When you reach the center or “heart” of the artichoke, eat that too.
